Sarah McIntosh, CNWI, KPA CTP

Certified Animal Trainer

For the last two decades, Sarah has worked with local shelters and rescues to support animals in their care through training, enrichment and foster. She has extensive experience with clicker training, agility and K9 Nose Work.

Sarah is a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) through National Association for Canine Scent Work (NACSW) and a Certified Training Partner through the Karen Pryor Academy (KPA CTP). She is grateful for the intersection of these skill sets as they allow her to help her clients further improve their communication and relationship with their dogs through the use of positive reinforcement.

Sarah was first introduced to K9 Nose Work® while looking for an activity to improve the quality of life of a deaf and blind dog that she was fostering named Journey. Through Nose Work, Journey blossomed and gained confidence, and the bond between Sarah and Journey grew so strong that she ended up adopting Journey. Sarah believes K9 Nose Work is a gift to all dogs, but is extremely passionate about how powerful it can be in helping fearful dogs to gain confidence.

Sarah has also completed a Certificate in Applied Animal Behavior through the University of Washington and Dr. Susan Friedmans Living and Learning with Animals (LLA). She is also a Certifying Official and Judge for NACSW Nose Work Trials.

She looks forward to meeting and working with you and your dog.
