Feral Cat Trap-Neuter-Release Program
The Humane Society of Boulder Valley offers a Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program package price: $35 includes spay or neuter surgery, a spay incision line tattoo, a rabies vaccination, and a FVRCP vaccination. In addition to the sterilization surgery, one ear is tipped (notched horizontally) while the animal is under anesthesia. The ear is tipped to help easily identify those altered feral animals at a distance so that they do not need to identify that a spay/neuter has been performed. If you do not want the cat to be ear-tipped, you will be asked to pay normal feline spay or neuter surgery fees.
Feral cats must be inside their traps when they are brought to the clinic for surgery. Clients should bring a cat carrier to transport the cat home. We recommend clients consider providing a safe indoor location (such as a garage) for the cat to stay in for the night(s) following surgery.
Rabbits and Small Animals
Male rabbits may be neutered at three to four months of age or older. Female rabbits may be spayed at six months of age or older. Small mammals should arrive at the clinic in an appropriate cage or carrier. Clients in our SHARE Safety Net services program receive 45% off the prices listed below:
Male rabbit neuter: $275
Female rabbit spay: $300
Guinea pig neuter: $250
Rat neuter: $250
